Sponsorship Agreements

Once you attract interest from a potential sponsor, they’ll most likely want to look over an agreement. This agreement should list all the terms of conditions of the sponsorship relationship and include specific details of what the sponsorship level includes.

Lack of a well-written agreement greatly increases the risk for misunderstandings and damage to the relationship. People also change jobs so your agreement can be lost if you don’t have everything in writing. All sponsors should sign a written agreement to avoid these problems.

The Sponsorship Agreement Should include:

  • A detailed description of the event
  • What is being sponsored
  • Benefits to be gained by the sponsored organization
  • Benefits to be gained by the sponsor
  • Legal terms and conditions
  • Insurance details, if relevant
  • Sponsorship Time-frame
  • Payment terms and method

We recommend you consult with an attorney to ensure the agreement is sound for your project prior to use.

We provide a sponsorship agreement template as part of the Sponsorship Power™ Toolkit. The agreement template must be customized to fit your particular project.
