We have gathered some tips to utilize if you’re invited to do a presentation for a potential sponsor either in person or over the phone.
- Use a professional power point presentation. If you’re doing the presentation over the phone make sure to forward the file to your contact person well in advance. Have a copy of the slides in front of you and direct your contact person to “Turn” the slides as you move along with your presentation.
- Formatting: make sure to only have a few sentences on each page. Use an appropriate and simple background with a clear font such as Arial. We recommend using 10 slides or less.
- Include your logo on all presentation material and make sure they have a clean and professional look. Hire a designer to assist you or work with a sponsorship proposal developer.
- If you are doing the presentation in person, avoid reading directly off your slides. Be sure to face the audience and do your homework in advance.
- Be prepared to answer valuation questions and emphasize what makes your project unique and valuable to the sponsor. Remember that the sponsor level pricing should always coincide to the sponsor benefits.
- Always focus your presentation on the benefits to the potential sponsors.
